Moved into a house that has a wood mantle and fireplace surround painted white. Over the winter the area above the opening has discolored. I've tried cleaning it and it won't come out. Should I repaint? What's the best way to strip off the old paint? (has some small architectural details) Also what type of new paint/primer would be best?
