I have installed a Hoover central vacuum with no problem and am quite happy with it. Mind you this was new construction. If you are installing in an existing house you will need to do some planning on where to locate the pipe. Beam also makes a system which is probably just as good as Hoover. My total cost was about $800.00 but it is well worth it. The only problem is the hose - be sure to plan a place to store it. Good Luck, Ken
