Laying tile diagonally...HELP :-)

Hello all :-) Our Master Bath is broken up into two smaller areas. the Vanity area goes through a door into the actual bathroom. I've been told that I should use 1' X 1' tile layed diagonally to give the rooms a more spacious feel. I layed tile when I was in the Navy but I was dealing with VERY small, pre-formed, tile sheets and the space was perfectly square. I don't have a clue about how to lay out this tile (do I start from the center of the door, a corner, a chalk line, etc..) If anyone has some advice (or better yet a website that has pics) I'd be most appreciative... Bye the way...in response to the rather negative gentleman a few posts back..This site ROCKS.
