I have received estimates for new furnaces from four different companies. Two (Carrier and Trane dealers) tell me that a variable speed furnace would be good for my house because the constant air flow would make the house feel more comfortable. The other two (Lennox dealers) tell me that I should not buy a variable speed furnace because they are nothing but trouble and are hard to adjust for a two story house. They have all totally confused me. Which type of furnace is best. They are all 80% efficient. My house is a two story colonial plus a partial basement and a hard to heat and cool sun room. Any information that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
