I recently had this problem and fixed it myself without going to town and buying washers. Assuming the plate with the switch that controls the operation of the drain can be removed from your tub - try this...Use a screwdriver to remove cover...pull mechanism up and out....adjust nut on threaded post - this controls the suction (or the lack thereof) of the drain...Good luck!
