this is not a job for a first timer or one with just a book reading. Your getting into a very detailed project that must have so many different things done correctly the first time.
I used to do this under the umbrella of my contrator skills, but stopped due to the mess, the distruption of the home, and the pure hard work.
In answer to your question, I do not know of a book showing this project for studing.
