We are finishing our basement. We do not get water but have a drain right in the middle which has backed up a couple of times due to tree roots. We were thinking of gluing carpeting down but I'm concerned. We were told if we rod it out every couple years we won't have a problem. We are going to section off our laundry room but there is no drian in there. We wanted to make the basement warmer for our grandchildren to enjoy. Would it be better to tile(I don't like and of the basement tiles) and put an area rug in the living area? Please help!!!
