Mike, at the risk of having people come over and hurting me, let me say that NO crawlspace should be damp. But then I'm from Texas. Jays suggestions are standard practice for eliminating moisture and they work. Also makes it nicer when you're crawling around under there. Ventilation is important, Summer and Winter. You have had a lot of rain this year and I would imagine that this condition will clear up very soon since you haven't had it before. That is after the rain you got tonight drys up. You might want to check it today and see if it's wetter. I'm sure you looked for leaking water lines or drain lines and overflowing gutters? Is it damp in all areas or just around the edges? If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days or a week, then I would start looking for the cause and the solution. Just keep an eye on it for the time being. Good Luck
