I scrubbed my floors clean with a commercial cleaner/wax stripper, then applied commercial floor wax (bought at Costco or janitorial supply store. Results were spectacular. They are so shiny that even is dark worn areas, they look renovated - lived in, but beautiful. I also used the wax on a newly refinished wood floor, and it is far shinier now. I recently painted my walls, and paint splatters came right up off the floor. Spread the wax very quickly to avoid having it soak through the floor.
