When we built our house in 1987 I wrapped the ceilings and exterior walls with plastic before hanging the drywall. We also have 6" exterior walls, with 1" styrofoam and vinyl siding. The attic has two layers of insulation. We have a geo-therm heat pump, so the air isn't hot or dry. We have mold under almost every truss along the outside walls. Did I bundle it up too tight? Is there a fix, other than cutting "breathing holes" in the plastic? I have washed the spots and used KILZ and repainted. Sometimes it stops it and sometimes the mold returns.
