How can I remove thinset mortar?

I bought a house that has tiles through the entire house, I want to remove the tiles in 1 room and install wood flooring.

I managed to get the tiles up, but now I have the mortar to deal with.

I know I can sit there with a chisel and hammer, but I was wondering if a grinder or someother means was faster and better.
