I am installing insulation in our attic (on the floor). I was told by my trusty Home Depot helper to have the paper backing facing out; however, I am concerned about the fire hazard. We are not planning to place any flooring over the insulation (the joists are way too small). Is it safe to leave the paper backing facing out? Should I tear it off?
