If you have an older impulse that is firing erratically, it is probably the switch mounted on the head of the tool that plugs into the fan circuit board. I have both framers and trimmers that have had this problem and would like to find a good source for the switches. My oldest has been used almost daily since 1996 and this switch is the only problem I have ifn the tools are kept clean. hope this helps......alan
