some people have the access door on the other side of the wall accessed from a closet on the back wall if applicable.

If not, you can have a neat hinged door made that is not too conspicous or have a sliding door made that just slides to the side for access.

Check out what is being shown in show rooms for these units. You could get some ideas there.
