I can't believe this thread is still here. It's been three years since we installed our no2 1x8 pine plank flooring. We went with a mastic to keep boards from cupping and face nailed. No t&g. In another room we didn't use the mastic because we thought we'd be ripping part of it up later anyway. All of the flooring looks great and is wearing wonderfully.
