Can refrigerators be painted?

Hello again, I was wondering if refrigerators can be painted? We have a white frige and want to paint it black to match our oven, dishwasher, and microwave. I've seen it done on trading spaces, but wasn't sure how good it will turn out. And, what should it be painted with if it is a good idea? A special appliance spray? Thanks for any input.
