I have been considering using vinyl ranch-rail fencing here, and found this info in my searches. This url - http://www.fences4less.com/cat/legend/rail.pdf is a manual for installing one brand, but I think the info is relevent. It involves inserting rebar inside the gate post and filling the post with concrete.
