I don't have any personal experience with them but I tend to think they are a gimmick. All that water is still going down near the side of your house. So what if the rain dispersal systems somehow "magically" dissipates the rain? The water is still falling down and probably helping to flood your basement or blowing back on your house and getting everything wet. I think it is always best to capture all that water (lots of water comes off your roof) and put it somewhere out of the way and away from your house. I don't want all that water messing up my house. If you get quotes from a couple gutter companies on new seamless gutters then you will probably be surprised at how reasonable they can be. I have put them on old houses and they look original with the nice profile they have.
