basement window installation

I have jealousy windows in my basement, and I want to replace them with vinyl windows. The problem is, I can't figure out how to get the jealousy windows out, or what I should do so that I can install the new windows. Could someone tell me what I need to do in order to be able to install the vinyl windows?
