Tub Drain Posted by Billy on August 31st, 2001 11:26 AM
I know that a tub drain usually comes straight down from the overflow drain on a tub. I want to put a tub on a basement slab that has a drain about 15 inches from where it should be. (The drain was for a shower that was removed, so there's a P-trap under the slab.) The drain location is underneath where the tub would be. It will cost lots of $$$ to move the drain in the concrete slab, so here are my questions: 1. Is there enough clearance under most tubs to run a drain line underneath? 2. If not, can I get a tub that is molded with the bottom high enough for the drain line clearance underneath? 3. What about mounting the tub on 2x4s laid flat to get an extra 1 1/2 inch clearance underneath? Thanks in advance, Billy
