Hi Lisa, Probably, one of the most important variables that you'd use when considering vinyl siding (among other things), is its thickness. Your location: If you live in the NE, it might be better to go with the 'thickest' vinyl. Because of the more dramatic changes in climate, you want a vinyl that will stand up to expansion and contraction (due to temp change.) If you live in FL, for example, you could probably go w/the 'thinner' type. My best to ya and hope this helps. Jay J -Moderator PS: Personally, I'd go w/a thickness of .042 or thicker ...
