We also have popcorn/cottage cheese ceilings in our bedroom. We have owned the home for 10 years and do not know if it contains asbestos? What was your answer to Dennis? How can we test for this? If it does not contain asbestos,how can we clean it besides painting over it? If it does contain asbestos who should we get to remove it. Help, we are presently having the interior painted and they have not gotten to the bedrooms. I do not want to spend the money painting first and the ceilings need to go. Please,please help
