If you are that concerned with laminate flooring off gasing formaldehyde, open the boxes and stack it up with slickers between the planks in a well ventalated area. Then your only concern will be the planks that are cut. If you install before winter sets in, you should be able to ventalate the house enough that it isnt a problem. If you prefer hardwood floors and are concerned with solvent finishes, you could use a waterborne topcoat. Keep in mind the resale value of your home, Hardwood floors are still a big seller.
