Gargage door remote

I got a new Craftsman reciever and remote, and hooked it up to the ol' Stanley. You have to disable the old reciever for the new one to work right. I cut the old antennae, and now I have a range of about 10', and it only works half the time if I'm lucky. I see no "tuning slug" on the Stanley board. What do I disconnect, or how can I otherwise disable the old reciever? Thanks!!
