I sprayed 3 pine dressers with water bourne polyurethane and spent 2 days wet sanding the finish out with 400 1000 and 2000 grit sand paper to get rid of all the microscopic air pockets in the finish. If in doubt call the manufacturer of the finish, some water bourne polyurethanes state on the can that the finish "CAN NOT BE APPLIED BY SPRAYING". All though the finish that I was spraying said it could be applied by spraying, I experienced the same problem noted by DH.
