Are you looking for something like cultured stone? "Cultured Stone" is a generic name for faux stone cast from concrete. It's lightweight so it can be surface mounted directly to a wall...no ledger required. Some brands are better than others, so get an up close look before you buy. It runs about $4.50 a square foot for field pieces and about $5.50 a linear foot for corner pieces. Prices for Connecticut.
