ADA has two standards for ramps. assisted and un assisted. Assisted ramps state 2 feet for every inch in height, un assisted require one foot for every inch in height.

I have seen some ramps built so long out because the threshold was so high, but not many people know that you can encorporate switch backs in your ramps to aliviate some of the distance in the ramp.
