removing paint from cabinet hardware

I just did that yesterday. I bought a low-fune paint remover made by ACE Hardware (there's also a citrus brand that's the same thing). I applied the gel, taped plastic wrap over it to keep it moist and let it sit overnight (I have about 5 layers of paint to remove). The next morning, it scraped off easily. the grooves in the screwheads took a little scraping but I was able to easily remove the screws once I got the grooves clean.
