Cracks in new house

Hello, I bought a new house about 4 weeks ago. I have noticed large cracks on my sidewalk and about 6 or 7 cracks in my basement floor(some considerable). The builder is still responsible for fixing this but I was wondering what would be the correct way of fixing this especially the basement cracks which have me worried because I was going to install a nice rug and make it a family room.
