Safe to burn pine in Lopi wood heater?

Is it safe to burn pine in a late model, efficient, non catalest
wood heater?

We are looking at getting a Lopi insert so the greedy gas co cant
screw us again this winter.

I read that the wholesale prices are WAY down, like 50% in the last few months
but they havent lowered my rate.

Wanna replace my 30 yr old furnace and too small a/c with a heat pump, so I can turn off the gas alltogether.
