The asBestos is not IN the duct itself but the inspector noted in his report that the material surrounding it more than likely contained it. His suspicions were based on the appearance and the age of the home. Chemical testing is beyond the scope of their inspection. The inspector indicated that there was no hazard where it was located and he gave it a satisfactory rating, however, this inspector was referred to us by the selling agent. I’d like more information before escrow closes. If it is indeed a health hazard where it stands, we will require removal by the seller.
