Check with the local garage door opener folks. All
openers have a rope/chain handle on the opener
mechanics that allows you to disengage the motor
from the door mechanism. You can then open the
door manually. Most of them make an 'emergency'
entry item that allows you to access this device
from the outside with the use of a key.
