oh, they emit an odor, alright. i've caught many on glue traps and once they start to decompose...well, let's just say its rather unpleasant. i bait my traps with p-nut butter, but i just read something about baiting with cotton, something to do with their hunt for nesting materials. i tend to agree that finding their entry point(s) is primary.
