If you have gutters, they make gutter clips to hang your lights from. There are also shingle clips to slide up under the edge of the shingles, but I don't like to do that as it can cause the first course of shingles to loosen. I have in the past used the spring loaded paper clips to attach lights to the aluminum soffit or the facia edge, However using these metal clips to hold the wires to the aluminum is probably not the best idea.
