Brian, I have used Dap Wood Dough for furniture, interior applications and much prefer Minwax Wood Filler. The later is similar to Bondo--a filled epoxy resin and OK for exterior. They both take stain equally bad. Can't give you any specific answers on the siding issue but Bruce is usually right
