please give more details on the type of carpet too. most likely you will have to cut a spot out and splice in another piece from leftover carpet that hopefully you have, if you dont have any extra carpet from the original installation see if you can get some from a closet area where the carpet piece may not be noticeable or missed. the patch will need to be attached with a heavy fabric backing hot glued to to the remaining carpet and then apply a dab of hot glue to the bare spot and drop your new piece onto it. If you are lucky, you might get by with just taking a small pair of scissors and clipping out the burnt fibers ...but this approach may leave a bare spot that is too noticeable. then you might be able to hot glue on a small amout of good carpet fiber from a closet or spare piece or from some unnoticeable edge of the carpet.
