Roof was OK! My husband did find evidence of what was apparently past moisture damage - whether this occurred recently or not we don't know (bought house April 2001). Problem was around the cooler area & rain storm had occurred so we were confused. Turned out the copper water supply line to cooler that we thought we'd drained froze & split. Guess even though water was turned off leaky valve supplied water to line anyway. Patched the roof around the cooler, but water kept dripping down. Replacing drywall without question now! Soaked! Didn't realize that home owners insurance covered stupidity. Luckily it does and the homeowners warranty we purchase on off chance covering the plumber's bill. Looks like huge drywall job! Think the policies will pay for themselves for this new home owner!
