Forget the 1/2" osb, Run 2 rows of blocking, 4' apart. Block out every bay, Use sub floor adheasive and 12d galv nails, stager the blocks.

If you are concerned about the span, double up the 2x8's every 4', and nail them top and bottom every 12". Then add the blocking
