If it was a one or two shot occurence from your petvets sell a product which is supposed to break it down.If it was there a while you have to remove the carpet and see if you can get it cleaned. If it went through the padding also, you may have to throw away padding and carpeting, and if it happened over a long period of time you may find you even have to replace the sub-flooring/ I did. Good luck, and walk him or her more often.
