my wife and I painted our old dark kitchen cabinets in our previous house and they turned out great. I disassembled and reassembled ...she did all the painting we used a white enamel (oil based) paint and it smells like crazy. will take about a week for the smell to clear keep it well ventilated . take your time a do a little at a time ....it does not have to be done in one day .... And trust me will be so pleased with the results. btw ..dont thinnk my wife will let me come paint them even for a price. hope this helps further. good luck. LJ LJ
