I highly recommend pocket doors. I had them on all the bedrooms in the 1960s cottage I used to own. I did not experience any problems with them - despite many guests and kids coming an going. With kids they are great because it is difficult to make them slam. The only thing was that many adults didn't even realize they were installed - we had lots of first time visitors dressing in the bathroom! Good luck!
