I saw some photos in a magazine showing the use of faux beadboard paneling in a basement on the walls (lower 2/3, below chair rail/shelf) and on the ceiling. I love the look of this.
My question... is drywall necessary in a basement, or is this faux beadboard paneling a realistic option. Naturally, I'll apply a sealant and a plastic vapor barrier prior to insulation.
