I'm certain that there will be lots of opinions on this. A few suggestions from me would be to consider putting a film on your windows that would block the UV rays of the sun. It won't stop it completly, but these film usually block as much a 85% of the UV from the sun. Something else you might consider is a varnish for the walls that has a UV blocker in it. Even with these things, I'd still remove the pictures at the end of each season just in case. :o)
