tacky paint removal

I did something dumb, and now I need to undo it.
Someone told me I could use craft-type Crackle
on my front door, then paint it with a latex paint
to achieve an antique-type look. Well, it doesn't work!
The Crackle wouldn't dry completely, stayed slightly tacky.
Painted anyway, thunking it was just our Chicago
humidity. Now everything is tacky and I can't get it off.
I have to have surgery tomorrow(!) and need to get it off
NOW! Tried OOPS, paint thinner, and de-solve it. Nothing works.
Tried to sand, but too tacky. HELP!!!!
