You have to be careful with pulling or draging furniture and stuff like that. Its like a runner in your hose.
Some people have told me that the best method is to back sew the pull back into the backing and not to cut it. then I have heard to cut it at the pull and touch a match to it lightly to set it in.
All I know is that one of the big disadvantages of Berber is just this.
