dryer circuit wire in power box seems melted

I noticed that my dryer circuit wire in my power box is bubbled where it connects into the circuit fuse, perhaps indicating that it has overheated at one time. It may have happened before I moved into the house, or it may have happened after I hooked up my electric dryer and began using it. Any ideas?

My dryer is relatively new and works fine.
