I started digging holes for a deck next to my pool. About a foot down I ran into concrete. Without more excavation I can't be sure if it was a patio or is just some kind of block. I know the frost line is 32 in my area but there will only be 2 posts next to the pool and the other 11 posts are not problematic and can be the proper depth. Will just setting these 2 posts (7.5 feet apart) on a 1 foot concrete pad be a problem? The next set of posts is 7 ft away in case that matters. I know I can break up the concrete with time and effort but with the time I spent already on it, it would be much easier just to pour the 1 foot hole...comments???
