Travis, Sounds like the neutral wire is not connected ,probably in the motor, My suggestion is either replace the motor or the complete fan. As you know the ground only protects you from electrical shock when you touch the shell of the motor even though it terminates in the same location in the breaker box its still not a neutral wire because it shelds other appliances with the same ground. Replace it. You could have a broken neutral wire somewhere else in the system. Some good books on the subject are at "www.paich.com" good luck, brAin
