Is like mine, you have a separate switch on it for the light. The light on the hunter remote fans is an option that wires to the bottom "can" located on the fan. You do not have to wire the power to the light separately. Joe is probably right, that the red wire is the one that is hot all the time. But as he says, check it out with a meter. If all else fails, change the codes on the fan and remote to a new set. Sometimes different codes work better than others. Good Luck! Dodgeman
