The rain was beating against that side of the house and the water wicked in through the motar joints. What Jason said is probably true, that some water got into the wall cavity at the sill plate. Waterproofing the outside of the wall (particularly the motar joints) will help, but you need to stop any water from entering at the sill plate. The good news is that it looks worse than it really is. it doesn't take much water to make those wet spots. I'll bet they dry up by tomorrow afternoon. Good Luck! Dodgeman
